Every part of the JB27 Logo has meaning! From the letters and numbers, to the symbols and colors, the JB27 logo was created to represent Jake, but also the message we now carry forward through the Jake Baker 27 Fund. Every detail has a purpose.
JB27
The Weight Plate
Weights were a big part of Jake’s life. The weight also represents the struggles, challenges, and pain we can carry, and reminds us that we don't have to carry that weight alone.
Hidden inside the B is a semicolon, a symbol that represents hope, strength, and continuing your story.
JB represents Jake Baker’s initials, and 27 was the last number Jake wore at Slippery Rock University.
The Semicolon
The Color Green
Green was Jake’s favorite color. It is also the color associated with mental health awareness.
We Can Lift This Weight Together!!
This is the message at the heart of JB27. No one is meant to handle life alone. There will be times when the weight we carry becomes too heavy to lift by ourselves. Strength is allowing someone else to help carry it. Even the two exclamation points have meaning. They are a subtle symbol of togetherness and a reminder that we stand together!!
Everyone who attends a JB27 Talk receives a bracelet. It is more than something to wear. Every part of the bracelet connects back to Jake and serves as a reminder of the message shared during the JB27 Talk.
Being part of the JB27 Team means understanding that none of us has to face everything alone. It is about knowing who is on your team and allowing others to be there for you.
There will be times when the weight we are carrying becomes too heavy to carry alone. Strength is knowing when to let someone else help carry it. The two exclamation points are another subtle symbol of togetherness and a reminder that we are not meant to handle life alone.
SINGLE FISH & HOOK
The fish represents Jake’s love of fishing and the outdoors. The single fish represents each of us, while the hook represents the struggles and pain we can carry in life.
SCHOOL OF FISH
The school of fish represents the people around us. Even when it may not feel like it, we are not alone. Friends, family, teammates, and others want to be there and help us through difficult times.
RAISING THE WEIGHT
Just as lifting a physical weight takes strength, so does facing the weight we carry in life. Sometimes strength means pushing forward, and sometimes it means recognizing when the weight is too heavy and letting others help us lift that weight.
MOUNTAINS & TREES
The mountains and trees represent Jake’s love of the outdoors. When we are in the trees or still climbing, it can be hard to see what lies ahead. Sometimes we have to keep climbing before we can look back and see how far we’ve come.
